Why this study matters
Building a sustainable practice takes more than clinical skill
Qualifying as a competent practitioner and establishing a sustainable professional career require different, although complementary, skills. Establishing a financially sustainable practice can be challenging, even for clinically competent graduates, and training providers have an important role in preparing graduates for both.
This study examines support at five stages: before enrolment, during training, at qualification, after qualification and through graduate follow-up.
By bringing together responses from participating programmes, we aim to build a clearer picture of current practice, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute useful descriptive evidence to the sector. Scores describe reported provision, not graduate outcomes, and individual results are never published without permission.
